QATAR SMS: Products and Compliance

• Generic Sender ID not allowed

• Messages to be sent between 8am and 9pm only (Qatari time)

• Gambling, betting, SPAM, loan traffic, Crypto, Forex and adult, political or religious content is likely to be blocked by the Qatari operators. No specific promo regulations. 

• Numeric shortcodes and longcodes is not supported towards Qatar

• Registration for alphanumeric sender IDs is allowed, provided it adheres to the following conditions:

• The ID must consist of a minimum of 3 characters and a maximum of 11 characters. It should include letters from the Latin alphabet only. 

• Numeric digits are permitted but cannot appear at the beginning. One blank space is allowed; however, other special characters are not supported.  

Content restrictions:

• Pornography or adult

• Abusive messages

• Hate speech

• Invitation to violence

• Racism

• Political 

• Religious 

Marketing:

• No opt-out messaging tail required to be added for marketing SMS

• Curfew for marketing campaigns: 21:00 - 07:00 local time (GMT + 03:00)

• No marketing campaigns to be sent out on Fridays and public holidays
